Waxing Advice
Before Your Waxing Treatment
First wax may take a little longer than subsequent waxes
If you are considering moving from shaving or other depilatory methods, you will need to let your hair grow for at least 3 weeks. Wax can only grab hair and NOT stubble so be brave and let it grow. It will be worth it.
Ideally you should exfoliate and moisturise the area a few days before your appointment.
On the day of your appointment please shower before arrival. If coming straight from work, we can provide fresh wipes for your convenience.
Do not moisturise on the day of your appointment.
Let your wax technician know if you are taking any medication that can affect your waxing results, such as blood thinners, Retin-A or Accutane (or similar products).
Wear loose fitting clothes
You can be waxed during your period, although you may be a little more sensitive and a waxing could be more painful.
Relax during your waxing service, because tense muscles make the area more sensitive.
The results normally keep getting better at least until your 4th wax.
After Your Waxing Treatment (24-48 hours)
No intensive exercise
Avoid all heat treatments including sunbathing, sun beds, steam baths and saunas.
Avoid swimming in public pools as chlorine may irritate the area that has been waxed.
Do not apply perfumed soap, body lotion, talcum powder or deodorant to the treated areas.
Use only lukewarm water for a bath or shower.
Do not apply make-up to any treated area.
Try to avoid touching skin that has been waxed.
Wear loose-fitting clothes.
Do exfoliate every 4 β 7 days, 3 days after your wax
Please Note
Some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over 24-48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the salon
Do apply Berodin Blemish Control to prevent & treat ingrown hair, 24 hours after your wax, once a day for 2 weeks

οΏ¬ HOW LONG DOES THE HAIR NEED TO BE ?
The hair should be NO SHORTER than 5mm β about the length of a single grain of rice. If you're having intimate waxing, the longer the hair, the more uncomfortable it will be, so we suggest you trim your hair before your appointment or we will do it for you. Have fun measuring, and please donβt trim too short. If you are not sure then please leave it to us.
οΏ¬ HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?
Everyone's hair growth is different. In most cases, you will see minimal re-growth during the first two to three weeks, with a noticeable increase after that. Continued waxing encourages slower, sparser re-growth.
οΏ¬ HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BE WAXED?
If you want to maintain that ultra smooth feeling, you will need to come in every four weeks, by the fourth wax, you'll find the re-growth dramatically slowed. You may then be able to leave longer gaps between your appointments and the hair will start to grow finer and softer.
οΏ¬ DOES IT HURT?
Everyone's tolerance for pain is different. Waxing can be uncomfortable but the discomfort is short lived β similar to removing a plaster, or being stung β then the discomfort is gone. Any discomfort will subside really quickly and will lessen with each visit as the hair thins and less hair is removed from the area. At Bessie S we guarantee that you will have the closest thing to pain free as is possible compared to any other waxing service.
